Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran Wax Figures Revealed & Fans Are Divided!
These might not be the faces Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran see in the mirror looking back at them.
The "Cruel Summer" singer and her longtime pal were both immortalized in wax at the Panoptikum museum in Hamburg, Germany, and reviews of the figures have been decidedly mixed.
"They look so off im crying," one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, Aug. 13. Another joked, "when ur mum says u have ed sheeran and taylor swift at home."
Some were concerned about the depiction of the "Shape of You" artist, noting, "Ed looks like his legs don't work like they used to before."
While another was surprised by Taylor's likeness—or lack thereof, writing, "Omg they did her so dirty."
Of course, there were some fans who were thrilled by the wax figures. "Honestly r…
We might actually play The Day Before soon.
After spending the year without a Steam page due to an apparent trademark dispute, the drama-prone survival game has returned to the platform with a new trailer and a new release date. Instead of November 10, The Day Before is now scheduled to release on December 7, and in early access.
We’ve been following The Day Before with curiosity since we noticed that it was near the top of Steam’s Most Wishlisted chart back in January. Its old 2021 gameplay trailer was visually impressive in places but heavily scripted, and details about how the game worked were unclear even though, at the time, it was supposed to release in March. We wondered what the deal was, and things got a bit weird after that.
The Day Before disappeared from Steam, which Singaporean developer Fntastic blamed on a trademark dispute with a calendar app. After delaying the game to November 10, the studio went ahead with a “raw gameplay reveal” event in Februar…
A teenager known as “God’s influencer” who spread the gospel on the web and loved videogames is to be canonised as a saint, the Vatican has announced. Carlo Acutis was born in 1991 and will become the Catholic Church’s first “millennial saint” after his canonization was approved by cardinals convened by Pope Francis.
Acutis died in 2006 at 15 years old from leukaemia, but dedicated his short life to spreading awareness of the Catholic faith and helping the poor. He was born in London to Italian parents but would go on to spend most of his life in Milan. Acutis is remembered by family as enjoying playing videogames such as Halo (naturally), Super Mario and Pokémon, and had a PlayStation from eight years old: though the devout young man limited himself to one hour’s play a day.
The process for becoming a saint can take decades if not hundreds of years, but Acutis has become a cause celebre among Catholics and is a hugely popular figure. The teenager, who is most oft…

I knew Baldur’s Gate 3 was going to be big, but I didn’t think it was going to be this big: In its second day of release, Larian’s epic D&D RPG has surpassed 500,000 concurrent players on Steam.
That’s not enough to put it atop the Steam chart, which is immutably dominated by Counter-Strike: Global offensive, a game that routinely has well over 1 million people playing at any given time. But it does put it within spitting distance of the perennial runner-up, Dota 2, and well past other heavyweights like PUBG, Apex Legends, Naraka: Bladepoint, and Grand Theft Auto 5.
Notably, Baldur’s Gate 3 is the only one among the top five that isn’t a multiplayer game, and the only one that isn’t free to play. Even more remarkable is that it is not, by conventional definitions, a mainstream sort of game. The D&D name carries weight, yes, but isometric party-based RPGs aren’t the sort of videogame that people are typically lining up to play.

It looks like Dead Island 2’s tumultuous years of development hell have paid off. Its launch weekend was a success, with Deep Silver revealing that the zombie-slaying action game managed to shift over a million copies.
That’s a pretty good payoff for almost a decade of chaotic development. Considering it went through a multitude of developers—first Yager in 2014, to an unnamed developer in 2015, to Sumo Digital in 2016, before finally settling on Dambuster Studios in 2019. Most games don’t even make it through that number of development studios to a full release, so to see the game make it out on the other side and have decent launch weekend numbers to show for it is a small miracle. Deep Silver shared some other fun stats, like players slaying over a billion zombies while meeting their own demise around 28 million times.
For the most part, the game seems to have gone down pretty well with fans. Responses to Deep Silver’s sales tweet are largely positive, with many…
There are a lot of live service games out there these days, and it’s not a trend we wholeheartedly love. But amidst the formulaic deluge, some games get it right. Helldivers 2 is a great example of that—but in a new interview with PC Gamer, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt sounded almost reluctant to embrace the label.
“We don’t view ourselves—I mean, we view ourselves as a live service game because it’s unfair to say anything else,” Pilestedt said. “We are going to continue adding more stuff to the game, and there are monetization elements in the game.”
But that aspect of the game has to “go hand-in-hand” with the base game, which Pilestedt said “should give you a full experience, like a really good several hours of good playtime.” Further monetization should be entirely optional, and more importantly, shouldn’t come into play until well after the experience of the base game is over.
“If you imagine what’s what’s happening with the game in year two, year …
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth isn’t coming to PC any time soon—but there are signs of hope, which means I’m allowed to be hyped for it, and definitely won’t get burned by a year-long wait. Especially not after finishing the FF7 Remake last week. (I’m hoping if I write this down, it’ll become real).
Until then I’ll be dodging spoilers—and it looks like there’ll be plenty of fresh ones to avoid. That’s according to an interview with the game’s director Tetsuya Nomura over on Automaton last week.
“More than 20 years have passed since the original game. In that time, each player has probably developed their own image of what FF7 is. However, it was precisely because of this that I wanted to take on the challenge of remaking it,” Nomura says, later remarking: “There are people who have played the original and will play the remake trilogy, and on the other hand, there are players who started out with FF7 Remake. I also think there will be players who begin with Reb…
